Parchment is made of animal skins which undergo various treatments. The animals concerned were mostly goats, lambs, sheep, rams, stags, and rabbits -sometimes antelopes or horses, and even….squirrels.
It is better to use calf or goats which are mainly worked within our workshop.
Parchment, a half-tanned skin which is used as writing support, goes back to at least the 2nd century BC., in minor Asia.
Parchment is used in cabinetwork to sheath or to cover all or part of furniture.
